What It’s Made Of
Forget standard glass. The tube is pure quartz. This stuff is tough—it handles the shock of heating up and cooling down fast, and it lets the UV spectrum through with no problem. We’ve also added a special coating on the quartz envelope. Its job is to filter out the infrared radiation you don’t want. The result? Less heat on the part itself, which means no warping on those sensitive materials. And the R7s base? It’s a practical, industry-standard choice for a reason. It gives you a solid, two-point electrical contact that can handle the constant vibration of a running line. It also makes the lamp a simple, straightforward drop-in replacement when it’s time for a new one.
