Power and Heat (The Part You Can’t Ignore)
When we’re picking a bulb, it all comes down to how much light actually hits your surface. More wattage means more photons, which means your line moves faster. But here is the catch: you have to match your bulb’s voltage and wattage to your ballast perfectly. If you try to over-drive the lamp, you’re just asking for trouble. You’ll burn out the electrodes and the quartz envelope will likely pop way sooner than it should. And then there’s the heat. These tubes gethot. Really hot. Your cooling system—whether you’re using air or water—needs to be able to keep up. If it can’t pull that heat away fast enough, your substrate is going to warp, and that’s a headache nobody wants.
The Build and Custom Stuff
